“After a long day of work, I went for a walk in order to stretch my legs and then, it appeared out of nowhere … I heard a growling noise coming from my stomach. I felt my appetite increasing and the desire to eat something healthy. I started searching in my pockets but… I could not find anything! In that very moment there was nothing in the world I would have loved more than to have an apple in my hand…”
The Norbert with an apple to hand project came to life when the two brothers Thomas and Jürgen Braun from KIKU Apples met with the three Michelin-starred chef Norbert Niederkofler. It was just a matter of time before they understood that there was something more than just affinity between them. Soon, they started realising that they had – and still have - a lot in common: apart from sharing the same ideas about paying particular attention to their territory and to the local production, they realised that they had the same innovative spirit and had a mutual passion for a healthy and balanced diet, particularly in connection with physical activity.
The apple quickly became the symbol for a local product that can easily be carried around. Furthermore, the apple is directly linked to tradition, cooking and nutrition.
A clever way to use our beloved apples? Just make vinegar.
In fact, apple cider vinegar can be utilised not only as dressing, but also for hygiene at home and for beauty makeup.
Sustainability is becoming an important topic: respecting the environment, creating stability, preferably increasing prosperity are values that should be addressed by everybody in their everyday life.
A unique and amazing location, local relationships, caring about sustainability and more: these are the reasons why KIKU Apples has become a partner of the AlpiNN – Food Space & Restaurant.
